Cold start for new year

After so many years I spent first January at home. It was very cold and we thought it fit to stay back. And I think it was a good decision. My little baby would have not been able to face the chilly wind that made us shiver.
Last year were at picturesque Ooty and  that was a very good experience. Sky was clear and a mild sun-shine made our tour more peasent. We visited Ooty lake and rose garden and had a home-made south Indian lunch at a mess run by a christian family near the sloppy way to rose garden.

I don't think I need to waste words to decribe the beauty of Ooty. It is universally acknowledged fact. But the cleanness in market and other public places were disappointing. By the way that was last year.

This first January it was 'food' that heralded the marathon for the year. Day began with an unsual way, due to demand of my elder daughter, with chowmin and it was followed by lunch Chholey -bhature,  fried rice and as a dessert, Pua, a Bihari dish, I think, generally eaten on the day of Holi. It was further complicated by dinner, in which we had litti-chokha at a relative's place. So it was a 'foody' start. But it was good.
